The Artist's Way | Art Journal Workshop

  • Florence Arts and Museums 217 East Tuscaloosa Street Florence, AL, 35630 United States (map)

The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron is more than a book; it's a life changer. This course - it's a twelve week experience not just a class - is an agent of creative awakening! We will meet for 2.5 hours on November 18, then you can go forward at your own pace at home. or choose to join in a weekly zoom meeting (which will also be recorded so you can have access to it later). Either way, I'm providing 12 technique videos to everyone who signs up.

You will get:

  • A copy of the book

  • A fresh new art journal that's a bit heftier than usual

  • A notebook for your Morning Pages

  • A smooth writing gel pen

  • A large Creativity Bundle to take with you

  • Art Journal Primer

  • Access to 12 videos showing techniques

We start with a 2.5 hour class on Saturday, November 18, at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts. We'll dive into the book for a short overview and discussion, pick up supplies, learn some techniques to get you started with the art part of journaling, and spend time creating. After this class, you'll be granted access to the videos.

For those who choose the "all classes" option, we will meet via zoom for the following 12 weeks, on Tuesdays at 5:30 for a conversation about the book chapter, and work in our journals. These meetings will be one hour and will be recorded and made available in your course.

So you can take this course in one of 4 ways:

  1. Just do the November 18 class with the book, materials + access to videos

  2. Just do the November 18 class with NO book (if you have a copy), materials + access to videos

  3. All Access -November 18 and twelve weekly classes with book materials + access to videos

  4. All Access- November 18 and twelve weekly classes NO book (if you already have a copy) materials + access to videos
